Here's to your beginning
I am so glad you have gotten this far in the finding a therapist and beginning your mental health journey- no matter what where you are in it. I initially got started in the mental health field at a young age when I lost a childhood friend to suicide and quickly found such a strong stigma surrounding mental health. I continuously work to create a therapeutic environment that is welcoming to all components of life as well as recognizing that talking about feelings and stressors can be hard! Asking for help can be one of the hardest things and I aim my practice around giving you control and the tools you will need to navigate life. I have a background in working with children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of life stressors. I've worked with individuals and couples surrounding communication barriers, anxiety, depression, how to manage daily stressors, and so much more.
I have a strong belief that once you walk into my office, it is important that you are validated, heard, and recognized. There are so many times in life where we may not feel that way. This is the space to focus on you, all your strengths, and all that you are capable of doing while processing some of the harder things. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy which focuses on challenging negative belief systems and negative talk, to both ourselves and others, and reframing the way we view, tackle, and engage every day tasks. While using this technique, I also ensure that we continue to discuss and identify the strengths you already have and create a safe space just for you.
